African Currency Forum 2023, Luxor Egypt

After an absence of 5 years the African Currency Forum will be held again in 2023. The event takes place from 15-19 January. Royal Dutch Kusters Engineering will also be present during this forum. Last time we attended the African Currency Forum was in 2018 in Zimbabwe. It hasn't been held since but now it happily is possible again.

The African Currency Forum is the biennial conference for the Association of African Banknotes and Security Document Printers. The event will build on the success of 2018 by combining formal business and technical sessions with a number of social events.

The theme of the African Currency Forum is ‘Improving the Security and Cost-Effectiveness of Currency’.

The Central Bank of Egypt Printing House (CBE) is the host of the 2023 African Currency Forum™. The conference will be managed by CBE in partnership with secure document, currency and conference specialists Reconnaissance International.

The hosts of the 2023 African Currency Forum™ welcome the participation of African central banks and their printing works, mints, government secure document departments and security printers, as well as established global industry suppliers.

Apart from the members of the AABSDP, the Central Bank of Egypt Printing House will invite delegates from the 42 African central banks and 15 national banks as well as guests from central banks and institutions outside the continent.

Organised by Reconnaissance International, the event is styled as a forum to focus on practitioners and decision makers. It is about adding value so that everybody learns, thinks, networks and comes away better able to develop policy, assess performance and options, work with others and implement new ideas.

On Wednesday 18 January we will also take part in the panel discussion regarding sustainability where we will present the results of our research "Banknote Recycling Study', conducted in Q3 2022. Click here if you want to read the summary regarding this study.
